GRAPHICS Research Objectives

Objective 1: Create graphene/ III-V integrated mode-locked lasers using active III-V microlasers and graphene as a saturable absorber to deliver a regular train of short optical pulses on silicon chips,

Objective 2: Create nonlinear integrated optical functions for signal routing and processing through harnessing the nonlinear response of graphene combined with (semi-)resonant nanophotonic structures,

Objective 3: Realize tunable electro-optic devices through exploring the opportunities of electrically tuning the Fermi level energy of graphene integrated on top of nanophotonic devices.
